Uma is fine now. She is back in action.
Yesterday was Makaram 1, Makaravilakku. As for any other auspicious day, she wanted to go to the temple, early morning. That's why she made me wakeup a bit early. That's by about 5.30 am.
Uma must have woke up by 5 am. That's why, she after her bath and rituals (lighting the nilavilakku, etc..) could wake me up by 5.30.
My readers would recollect that, she had the practice of gifting me a special one, every morning, for me to get the olfactory pleasures of the most erotic garment of the malayali woman. But now, that practice is stopped. I don't remember how it did stop, but I think it was when she went home (Vaikom) last time.
On her waking me up, she reminded me to get ready for the temple. I followed.
After my morning routines, I got ready by abt 6.15 am , and went down to the drawing. Remani was already in the kitchen. So, I went ther and met Remani. She was busy cooking, and she looked very gracious... in her settu mundu and chandana kury. She asked me " ചേട്ടന് കാപ്പി വേണോ .. ?' to which I negated. "I'll be back for breakfast in an hour .... Where's Uma " I asked.
"അവിടെ ... കുളിമുറിയില് കാണും " she said . I went to Uma's room. She was not in the room, but the bath room noise told me that she's there. I waited there standing, until in minute, she returned. Uma came out from the bath with a towel wrapped on . "മാമ്മാ..." she exclaimed. I smiled and waited for her next response. I knew she would start dressing up now, as I could see a set of garments on her bed. With a naughty smile , she said slowly .."നോക്കല്ലേ ..." and removed the towel, and my orange lady was now short of any garments.
Uma started up the dressing, in a sequence. There was a full set on the bed. First she took a white bra, and put on. She put the hooks at the rear, stretching her arms to the back. Looking at me and acting as if she is shy, she pulled the next piece, the red blouse. She put it and locked her boobs with the front hooks of the blouse. She then took the thaar mundu (with red line kara ) and stretched it in full.
She stood before me with her legs a bit spread. She then made a knot at both corners of the thaar mundu. Then wrapped it around the waist like a mundu, and pulled up the corner in the left hand, to make a long madi. The right hand corner with the knot was now tucked in on her waist line right. The waist is now locked. The madi, long enough to reach the back through between the thighs, was now pulled up the back. Kneeling a bit down, she pulled up the madi through the rear and between the thighs, and the tip knot was tucked in at the rear. Now that's the lock for the thaar val (madi). She then straightened up the creases on the butts and on the thighs (for not exposing the folds), and made the thaar trim. She turned back and "കൊള്ളാമോ ? ..." she asked me. I said "yes". In fact I was a bit hot ... but as I am to the temple, I controlled myself.
She then tookout her black underskirt(paavaada) and put on , over the head, and the thread was tightened with knot. With thaar, she mostly uses a black paavaada, Black prevents any shadow of thaar lines outside. With white paavaada, the thaar traces are visible outside, atleast faintly.
Next was the turn of the settu mundu. She wore the double mundu and then the shawl part was put. With a bit of trimming down, she finally got ready. I went out first, and Uma followed me.
We proceeded to the temple, and as we left the gate, I saw Pai coming home.

Sir,Cud yu pl clarify a doubt-whether the tharmundu yu mentioned is a tharthorthu,or a long onnaramundu?Is it a mallumundu or cottoncloth or of some other fabric?what for the knots on both the corners of tharmundu is made?Hope yu explain aat the eariest....
