Uma, after a few days, called me early in the morning today.
As usual, I woke up at 5am. Being on my routines, I was busy (not really, but just doing) till about 6am, when Uma's call came. The mobile phone tone is unique... I've set it so. Therefore, I rushed to my mobile, and picked it up as early as I could.
"Good morning... Maammaa..." her sweet voice.
"Suprabhaatham... my darling.." I responded.
The lively and lovely chat went on for almost an hour. During that time, I made my tea, and was sipping it.
Pai, as usual , turned up just after 7am. He had a pack of Idli and sambar in the small tiffin carrier with him. That's almost a routine now. Pai realised that I am with Uma, he left the pack and returned. Today, being a holiday, I've asked him earlier to take 'off'. And I decided to stay back home. Afterall, I've to do some Pooja ... you know it's "Aayudha pooja", and 'Poojaeduppu' today.
Uma told me she would go to "Panachikaattu" Saraswathi temple today. All three of them would go.. Vasu, Padma, and Uma. It'll be heavy rush in the morning hours, and so they would go after 11 am, so that they would be there during noon time. I asked her to get an archana done in my name too. But she said that may be difficult, as Vasu would be arranging for all Archanas, and addition of my name would not be welcome there. So, she said she would put a 'kaanikka' in the temple, and she would remember me there at that time. "That's good enough..." I said.
I reminded her of the last year's Pooja here. She was with me at that time, and Uma did everything so nicely, that those Pooja days are really memorable. She was silent for a few moments. I am sure she must have been playing the memories.
"Maamma..., I may not spend any more Pooja days with you ..." Uma broke her silence.
"I know that dear... nothing to worry on that..." I said.
"But I would be happy if I could see you ... " I continued. Uma didn't respond to that. But she said, after a few moments, that she would call me again in the afternoon. That's today afternoon !
I am waiting for her call.
