Uma - an employee now

Uma is an employee now. She joined (my) office on 22nd Monday.
I am sure, I've told you regarding the pressure on me to put her in my office. The situation was demanding, that if Uma wants to be here (that's my need too ), she should get into some employment. Else, she'll have to get back to her home at Vaikom.
After a few days of drama Uma (and I ) played, I was compelled to put her in my office. I am happy, she's here. But... I've the problem that she's in my Office ! I've a few people in my office, doing different jobs. Adding one more is not a problem. But that addition is Uma.. that's the problem now.
Everyone here knows that Uma is 'my inner lady'. I've put her for some simple clerical work (data entry too), and attached to Swamy (my Office chief ). I told Swamy to train her in all office activities (so that I can put her for more responsible tasks later, with an elevation).
The problem now are many. I am not able to concentrate on my work in the office... as Uma is right in my front office... She pulls all my attention! though she does her job. The office staff is treating Uma like a 'big" person, though I introduced her to all as a new clerk only. But everyone, it seems, understands my weakness over Uma. That's why they all have a different smile (and laugh) while interacting with me or Uma.
However, I don't bother how these guys take it.. I know, its all will die down after sometime. But... yesterday, I got a news from Mercy (another office girl.. I told you about her !) that the office fellows call Uma (secretly) as my "വെപ്പാട്ടി". I don't bother.. let them call whatever ! ... in fact that's the truth, you would agree !
Uma commutes with me to the office. When we reach in the morning, and leaving in the evening, I feel a bit shameful .... by the smile they all spread out... But, as I told you, it's none of their business. It's my personal affair.. why the hell should they think otherwise !...
